J'ai reçu une plainte. Une gentille plainte, mais qui fait suite à d’autres … en provenance de tous les amis, connaissances ou
simplement curieux que nous avons rencontrés tout au long de nos 4 années de
vagabondage alaskan/canadien. A savoir que le blog continue d'être écrit
presque exclusivement en français. J'ai bien essayé de faire une publication
bilingue pendant quelque temps, mais écrire en français prend déjà pas mal de
temps, et je n'ai pas continué.
S'il se trouve parmi les lecteurs du blog une ou quelques bonnes âmes prêtes à faire ce travail de traduction, je les en remercie
grandement. Il ne s'agit pas bien sûr de traduire littéralement chaque billet,
mais plutôt de transmettre l’idée ou l’ambiance qui s’en dégage. Pour cela, il
suffit de poster sa traduction dans le commentaire du billet correspondant, et
Olivier, qui gère avec une grande assiduité la publication du blog, la transformera
en billet, avec un lien entre les deux versions linguistiques.

I received a complaint, a nice one, about the blog being written almost exclusively in French. It comes in the wake of other complaints from friends, acquaintances or just people we met during our four-year wanderings in Alaska and Canada. I'm really sorry about this. We did try to post bilingual notes for a while, but writing in French already takes quite a lot of time, not to mention having to translate it into English! Moreover, neither Cécile or I are fluent in the language so if among our readers, there are some kind souls who are willing to translate the notes we publish, we would really appreciate it. The idea is not to give a faithful translation of the original notes, but rather to convey the main idea or the mood that pervades it. If you want to take the plunge, simply post your translation in the comments’ area of the note, and Olivier, who manages the blog , will publish it under the original note.
